There comes a point in every injector’s growth where the basics are no longer the challenge. You understand facial anatomy, and through an Advanced Injectable Course, you can build treatment plans, and you’re comfortable delivering consistent results. The next step becomes refining your decision-making in more complex areas of the face, such as the under-eye, temples, jawline, and overall facial balance.
At RUMA Academy, our Advanced Injectable Course is designed for experienced providers who want to move beyond foundational technique and focus on the clinical reasoning that leads to natural, balanced outcomes. If you’ve been searching for an advanced injectable course in Lehi, UT that focuses on full-face strategy and higher-risk treatment areas, this behind-the-scenes look will help you understand what to expect from our Injectable Course, enhancing your skills and confidence.
Why Advanced Training Is Different
Advanced training is not simply about learning new injection sites. It is about understanding how experienced injectors evaluate facial structure, assess patient goals, and select the right products and techniques for long-term outcomes.
At RUMA Academy, our small-group format allows providers to explore:
• Consultation strategy and patient assessment
• Facial anatomy and safety considerations
• Product selection and rheology
• Advanced injection techniques
• Full-face treatment planning
Rather than focusing only on technique, our goal is to help providers develop a clinical framework that leads to safer, more predictable results. RUMA Academy was founded by Shelby Miller, DNP, FNP-C, a board-certified nurse practitioner who trains nationally and has worked with industry-leading companies such as Allergan and Galderma.
Who This Training Is For
The Advanced Injectable Course is designed for experienced providers looking to refine their approach to full-face rejuvenation. Courses are held in small groups of 6-8 providers and typically run for approximately five hours at RUMA Medical Aesthetics in Lehi, Utah. Most sessions require at least one year of full-time injecting experience, and attendees must hold an RN or advanced medical degree. Because this course is designed for licensed medical professionals, a strong clinical foundation is essential.
What the Training Day Looks Like
While each training day may vary slightly depending on group interests and models available, the general structure includes:
- Course Overview & Priorities
We begin by understanding what attendees want to learn most, with a focus on full-face rejuvenation using neuromodulators and dermal fillers. - Consultation & Assessment
We discuss how to evaluate facial movement, proportions, and patient goals while setting appropriate expectations. - Anatomy & Safety Review
Advanced areas require precise depth and technique. We review the anatomy that informs safe treatment decisions. - Live Model Demonstrations
Providers observe real-time injections and technique approaches while discussing clinical decision-making throughout the procedure. - Discussion & Q&A
Because the group size is intentionally small, providers have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in open discussion throughout the training.
Full-Face Techniques You Will See
This course focuses on full-face rejuvenation, with particular emphasis on midface and under-eye treatment strategies. Midface support often plays a significant role in achieving natural-looking results across the entire face. Understanding how cheek structure influences areas like the tear trough or nasolabial folds can dramatically improve treatment outcomes.
Depending on the training day, additional topics may include treatments such as Sculptra or PDO threads, giving providers a broader understanding of facial balancing approaches.
Live Model Learning
A key part of the RUMA Academy experience is learning through live model demonstrations. Attendees have the opportunity to observe techniques in real time and palpate injection depths and anatomical landmarks. This hands-on learning environment allows providers to better understand the precision required for advanced treatments.
Because multiple treatment areas may be demonstrated, injecting time may vary depending on model availability and course flow. Even when not injecting directly, providers gain valuable insight by observing clinical decisions as they happen. For our small-group trainings at RUMA Medical Aesthetics in Lehi, a Utah license is not required to attend.
The RUMA Academy Training Path
Not every provider begins with advanced training, which is why RUMA Academy offers multiple levels of education.
Our training pathways include:
- Beginner Neuromodulator & Filler Course
- Intermediate Injectable Course
- Advanced Injectable Course
- Lip-focused training
- PDO Threads 101
- Shadowing opportunities
- Private training experiences
Some providers begin with beginner training and progress through intermediate and advanced courses, while others choose private training designed around specific treatment goals.
